Terrestrial Energy IMSR Power Plant Selected by OPG for Further Evaluation

OAKVILLE, ON – October 6, 2020 – The Terrestrial Energy Integral Molten Salt Reactor (IMSR®) has been selected by Ontario Power Generation for further evaluation under the electric utility’s program to deploy small modular reactor (SMR) power plants.

Terrestrial Energy and L3Harris Technologies to Develop IMSR Generation IV Nuclear Power Plant Simulator

OAKVILLE AND MONTREAL – September 30, 2020 – Terrestrial Energy has awarded L3Harris Technologies a contract to develop an engineering and operator training simulator for the Integral Molten Salt Reactor (IMSR®), a Generation IV nuclear power plant.

The IMSR® power plant simulator is being built at L3Harris’ operation in Montreal, Quebec and will be delivered to Terrestrial Energy’s Oakville, Ontario facility in 2021.

CNL and Terrestrial Energy to Collaborate on Regulatory Safeguards for IMSR Power Plant Operation

Oakville, Ontario, Canada – September 15, 2020 –Terrestrial Energy is pleased to announce an agreement with Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL) to collaborate on a program of work evaluating Safeguards related to the operation of Terrestrial Energy’s Integral Molten Salt Reactor (IMSR®), a Generation IV advanced nuclear power plant.

KSB and Terrestrial Energy Partner to Supply Primary Salt Pump for IMSR Advanced Nuclear Power Plant

Frankenthal, Germany and Oakville, Ontario, Canada – March 3, 2020 – KSB and Terrestrial Energy have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on the supply of primary pumps for use in the Integral Molten Salt Reactor (IMSR®), a Generation IV advanced nuclear power plant.

The IMSR® primary molten salt pump circulates the fuel salt from the reactor graphite core to the primary heat exchangers, and it is a key component of Terrestrial Energy’s IMSR® power plant.

Ontario, Saskatchewan, N.B. premiers announce nuclear energy agreement

On Dec. 1, 2019, Ontario Premier Doug Ford, New Brunswick Premier Blaine Higgs and Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe released the following joint statement: "Ontario, Saskatchewan and New Brunswick agreed today to work together to explore new, cutting-edge technology in nuclear power generation to provide carbon-free, affordable, reliable, and safe energy, while helping us unlock economic potential across Canada, including rural and remote regions. The three premiers signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), committing to collaborate on the development and deployment of innovative, versatile and scalable nuclear reactors, known as Small Modular Reactors (SMRs), in Canada.
