Terrestrial Energy’s Paul McIntosh offered an update on TE’s IMSR, the Integral Molten Salt Reactor.
This was presented shortly before the completion of TE’s Pre-Conceptual Design Report, on May 29th of 2014.
IMSR is a Uranium-burner reactor (as opposed to a Thorium-breeder reactor). Yet, it will still outperform PWR’s on per-unit construction costs, fueling cost, and per-watt waste profile.
