Terrestrial Energy is a developer of Generation IV advanced nuclear power plants that use its proprietary Integral Molten Salt Reactor (IMSR®) technology.  IMSR® technology represents true innovation in cost reduction, versatility and functionality of nuclear power plants.  IMSR® power plants will provide zero-carbon, reliable, dispatchable, cost-competitive electric power and high-grade industrial heat for use in many industrial applications, such as chemical synthesis and desalination, and in so doing extend the application of nuclear energy far beyond electric power markets.  We have the potential to make important contributions to industrial competitiveness, energy security, and economic growth.  Our deployment will support rapid global decarbonization of the primary energy system by displacing fossil fuel combustion across a broad spectrum.  Using an innovative design, and proven and demonstrated molten salt reactor technology, we are engaged with regulators and industrial partners to complete IMSR® engineering and to commission first IMSR® power plants in the late 2020s.  To execute this plan, we are now looking to add talented people to the team, each of whom will:

Job Duties

The Project Planner, under the direction of the Systems Engineering Project Manager, is primarily responsible for collaborating with the Systems Engineering team by managing the planning, development, coordination and implementation of comprehensive project schedules. The Project Planner will aim to successfully oversee and direct projects progression and resource utilization. Other responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for planning and scheduling of deliverables and tasks assigned using Project Management Software (Primavera P6 Software)
  • Gathers and analyzes information to prepare status updates
  • Ensures that assignment, scheduling and progress is aligned with company policy and ambition
  • Evaluates current procedures and recommends changes to improve efficiency of planning and scheduling of projects
  • Documents work assignments and closes them in scheduling systems
  • Monitors schedule compliance levels and identifies reasons for completion shortfalls
  • Identify trends, issues, and critical activities requiring attention then provide timely information to initiate corrective measures
  • Make scheduling adjustments (such as resource leveling) and confer with managers to change resource allocations
  • Intercede on projects on or near critical path by offering recovery plans and solutions
  • Submit project progress to executive management on a weekly basis

Requirements

  • Completed a post-secondary degree or diploma in a Technical or Business degree or a related field
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Packages (Project, Word, Excel) and Primavera P6 Software
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
  • Ability to effectively liaise and form working relationships across the organization
  • Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlines
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills
  • Ability to take complex schedules and summarize at the right level to enable clear concise messaging
  • Skilled at developing and maintaining strong relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Think critically and use effective judgment when confronted with high-pressure situations
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience

Assets

  • Certification by the Project Management Institute (PMI)
  • Expertise in structuring, organizing, and managing multiple complex projects with demonstrated success in project planning, delivery, and project completion
  • Ability to multitask to meet ever-changing project goals and deadlines
  • Entrepreneurship or other experience demonstrating self-motivation and problem solving
  • Experience presenting to Executive teams and leading cross functional meetings
  • Experience with or knowledge of nuclear power
