Job Opening: Principal Windchill Solutions Architect

Terrestrial Energy Inc. (TEI) is a developer of Generation IV advanced nuclear power plants that use its proprietary Integral Molten Salt Reactor (IMSR®) technology. IMSR® technology represents true innovation in cost reduction, versatility and functionality of nuclear power plants. IMSR® power plants will provide zero-carbon, reliable, dispatchable, cost-competitive electric power and high-grade industrial heat for use in many industrial applications, such as chemical synthesis and desalination, and in so doing extend the application of nuclear energy far beyond electric power markets. We have the potential to make important contributions to industrial competitiveness, energy security, and economic growth. Our deployment will support rapid global decarbonization of the primary energy system by displacing fossil fuel combustion across a broad spectrum. Using an innovative design, and proven and demonstrated molten salt reactor technology, we are engaged with regulators and industrial partners to complete IMSR® engineering and to commission first IMSR® power plants in the late 2020s. Job Duties

The Windchill Solutions Architect, under the direction of Strategic Services Manager, is primarily responsible for architecting and implementing Windchill solutions for TEI. Other responsibilities include:

  • Prepare installation, maintenance, performance tuning and upgrade manuals with all aspects of the multi-tiered enterprise application.
  • Manage the development, test/QA and production environments of both enterprise application servers with their respective clients.
  • Contribute to IT technical application teams and user communities.
  • Architect and design present state and future state of multi-tier enterprise application layouts.
  • Coordinate with management, IT team members and users in regards to system configuration changes.
  • Install, configure, and customize Windchill PLM lifecycles, workflows, tasks, actions/action-models, based on engineering processes, user experience and efficiency.
  • Train & support users.
  • Support PTC Windchill PLM system monitoring, and system health/performance monitors to help maintain 100% uptime 24/7.Conduct application installations, backups, maintenance updates, performance tuning and upgrades to all environments of development, test and production Linux and Windows servers.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of work experience in PTC Windchill Suite including PDMLink, ProjectLink, Supplier Management, PartsLink and CAD integration.
  • Demonstrated success in project implementation delivery and the execution of best supported practice methods to keep customizations to a minimum and the best use out-of-the-box functionality.
  • Best practice working knowledge of PTC Windchill Suite Version 11+, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, Oracle.
  • Best practice working knowledge of Java, JSP, Json, HTML, XML, and SQL.
  • Best practice of software and application source code configuration management.
  • Support the integration of engineering software tools, including CAD, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and relational databases.
  • Support data integration and IMSR® architecture.
  • Support requirements management and traceability (PTC Windchill RV&S/Integrity).
  • Expert or working knowledge of Red Hat Linux and Windows Servers.
  • Skills and ability to create shell scripts.
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
  • Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities
  • Skills and ability to work under project schedules and deadlines.
  • Experience with Windchill RV&S (formerly Integrity)
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
  • Skilled at developing and maintaining strong relationships across all levels of the organization and with external customers and vendors.
  • To pass 4 levels of Canadian security clearance screening.

Assets

  • Working knowledge of Red Hat Linux, Windows Server OS
  • Expert or working knowledge of PTC Windchill, PTC Performance System Monitors, PTC Creo,
  • Expert or working knowledge of PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server and Oracle installations and upgrades.
  • Other industry experience in developing and implementing PTC Suite of applications within organizationally, logistically, and technically complex environments.
  • Agile/UML/CMII requirements methodology.
  • Experience with Windchill Modeler (formerly Integrity Modeler).
  • Previous Canadian security clearance.
