Terrestrial Energy is a developer of Generation IV advanced nuclear power plants that use its proprietary Integral Molten Salt Reactor (IMSR®) technology. IMSR® technology represents true innovation in cost reduction, versatility and functionality of nuclear power plants. IMSR® power plants will provide zero-carbon, reliable, dispatchable, cost-competitive electric power and high-grade industrial heat for use in many industrial applications, such as chemical synthesis and desalination, and in so doing extend the application of nuclear energy far beyond electric power markets. We have the potential to make important contributions to industrial competitiveness, energy security, and economic growth. Our deployment will support rapid global decarbonization of the primary energy system by displacing fossil fuel combustion across a broad spectrum. Using an innovative design, and proven and demonstrated molten salt reactor technology, we are engaged with regulators and industrial partners to complete IMSR® engineering and to commission first IMSR® power plants in the late 2020s. Organizational Development and Human Resources Manager

Reports To

Senior Vice President, Operations and Engineering

Job Duties

The Organizational Development and Human Resources Manager, under the direction of the Senior Vice President, Operations and Engineering, is primarily responsible for organizational development supporting a wide range of program initiatives such as employee development, performance management, diversity and inclusion. Other responsibilities include:

  • Design, develop, deliver, and evaluate programs and frameworks that improve our employee experience and engagement
  • Support and collaborate with Engineering and R&D functions to realize business targets by executing best recruitment, employment strategies, and practices
  • Develop and manage Personnel Qualifications and Training programs
  • Develop and manage mentorship and internship programs
  • Lead the planning and coordinating of annual-cycled programs such as organizational surveys and performance management
  • Update HR policies, procedures, job descriptions, organization chart, and other HR documentation
  • Facilitate meetings/workshops aimed at organizational improvement and effectiveness and team building opportunities
  • Conduct research on emerging trends and best practices at design/innovation companies and makes recommendations for enhancements
  • Identify new opportunities for HR to add value to the business
  • Manage and execute compensation and benefits strategy
  • Grow and manage HR team
  • Support the hiring process by sourcing candidates, coordinating, and participating in interviews, and working with management for establishing contracts

  • Post-secondary degree in Management Science, Engineering, Industrial Organizational (I/O) Psychology, Humanities, or related field
  • 3 to 5 years working within an engineering or design organization focusing on technical resource management
  • In depth understanding of applicable provincial and federal labour laws
  • 5 years experience in Organizational Development responsible for developing and deploying talent and HR programs
  • Experience with planning large-scale organizational change management processes with hands-on delivery to achieve results
  • Big picture thinking to analyze, review and recommend organizational improvements with ability to influence decisions and outcomes
  • Proven facilitation, consultation skills and experience delivering training/presentations to various groups of stakeholders
  • Proficient in HRM software packages
  • A working style characterized by a client-focused approach with an innovation mindset and results orientation


  • Certificate in Human Resources Management and/or professional designation (CHRP)
  • Business management experience
  • HR generalist experience
