Terrestrial Energy Signs Agreement for the Supply of Steam Turbines for IMSR Nuclear Power Plant
Oakville, Ontario, Canada – November 30, 2021 – Terrestrial Energy and Siemens Energy Canada have signed a contract for the manufacturing and supply of steam turbines and other balance-of-plant equipment, such as transformers, switchgear, and motor drive systems, for the Integral Molten Salt Reactor (IMSR®), a Generation IV nuclear power plant.
The IMSR® generates steam for power generation at standard utility class temperature and pressure, and from systems that are isolated from its nuclear reactor.
Terrestrial Energy Awarded US Government Grant for IMSR Development
CHARLOTTE, NC – November 24, 2021 – Terrestrial Energy USA was awarded a $3 million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to support licensing and commercialisation of its Integral Molten Salt Reactor (IMSR®), a Generation IV nuclear power plant.

Terrestrial Energy’s IMSR®400 Economic Benefit Assessment
An assessment prepared by Hatch Ltd. of the economic impact for Terrestrial Energy’s small modular reactor power plant (IMSR®400) in Ontario
Choosing Canadian Generation IV SMR Would Reward Ontario with Once-in-a-Generation Economic Windfall: Hatch Study
· Next-generation (“Generation IV”) nuclear reactor power plants have enormous potential to replace fossil fuel plants in Canada’s and the world’s energy grids
· Exporting commercial nuclear power plant technology could contribute more to the Canadian economy than automobile manufacturing by 2050
· Only Generation IV reactor technology will dramatically improve the economics of nuclear power generation to allow Canada to maximize the benefits and perpetuate its traditional leadership in commercial nuclear power
· Choosing a Canadian Generation IV reactor technology, rather than a technology developed outside of Canada, has the greatest potential to boost employment for Canadian companies many times over and maximize GDP benefits for Ontario and Canada

Terrestrial Energy Awards Major Component Design Contracts to BWXT Canada
Oakville, Ontario – October 26, 2021 – Terrestrial Energy has awarded BWXT Canada Ltd. engineering design contracts for steam generators and heat exchangers for use in the Integral Molten Salt Reactor (IMSR®), a Generation IV nuclear power plant.
IMSR®400 Power Plant Fly-Through
This animation shows the interior of the IMSR®400 power plant in the configuration proposed for the Darlington site. The IMSR®400 power plant uses twin Integral Molten Salt Reactors (IMSR®s), which operate at nearly 50 percent higher thermal efficiency than conventional reactors for better performance.
