Terrestrial Energy CEO Simon Irish to Speak at Energy Disruptors Conference on Game-Changing Potential of Advanced Nuclear

OAKVILLE, ON – May 8, 2018 – Terrestrial Energy’s CEO Simon Irish is expected to speak on the transformative potential of Advanced Nuclear technology at the upcoming “Energy Disruptors Unite” 2018 conference in Calgary. The keynote speaker will be Sir Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Group. The Advanced Nuclear panel will be moderated by Michael Liebreich, founder of Bloomberg New Energy Finance.

Terrestrial Energy’s IMSR® is a small modular reactor that uses a completely different nuclear technology—molten salt fuel instead of conventional solid fuel, and its design is simpler, less expensive and much more versatile than conventional nuclear power plants. The Company is working aggressively to bring its technology to market and expects the first IMSR® power plants to be online in the 2020s.

Terrestrial Energy has successfully completed the first phase of the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission’s Vendor Design Review for IMSR® power plant design, a first for an Advanced Nuclear reactor. The Company is working closely with the CNSC towards the successful planning and completion of phase two, the Company’s next key milestone.
