Organization of Canadian Nuclear Industries Announces Successful Supplier Day for Terrestrial Energy

OAKVILLE, ON – May 15, 2017 – Terrestrial Energy, a vendor of Advanced Reactor power plants, and Organization of Canadian Nuclear Industries (the “OCNI”), an industry association representing the Canadian nuclear supply chain, co-hosted a Supplier Day for Terrestrial Energy on May 9, 2017. There was a robust attendance from the Canadian nuclear supply chain and the Honourable Reza Moridi, Ontario’s Minister of Research, Innovation and Science, attended and gave the keynote address.

The purpose of Supplier Day events is to familiarize the supply chain companies with the vendor’s upcoming procurement requirements. Terrestrial Energy is deploying an Advanced Reactor power plant that uses its proprietary Integral Molten Salt Reactor (IMSR®) technology, and the Company presented its IMSR® design with deployment schedule and resource requirements.

“The OCNI is very proud to have co-hosted this event with our member, Terrestrial Energy,” said Ron Oberth, President and CEO of OCNI. “The executives of Terrestrial Energy made a strong impression on the Canadian nuclear supply chain. They made it clear to the assembly that Terrestrial Energy is a serious player in the nuclear power industry, and that it has the potential to open markets previously inaccessible to the industry, thereby creating new opportunities for the supply chain.”

“We would like to thank Ron Oberth and the OCNI for their ongoing support,” added Simon Irish, CEO of Terrestrial Energy. “This event gave us a wonderful opportunity to present to industry our plans for commercial deployment, and to present Terrestrial Energy as the advanced reactor industry leader. We look forward to working with the supply chain in the years and decades to come.”
